Full Journal pdf2015-04-14 House Journal Page 0925 HB 107 The following, which was advanced to third reading from the April 13, 2015, calendar (page 885), was read the third time: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 107(EDC) "An Act relating to the composition of the Board of Regents of the University of Alaska; and providing for an effective date." Representative Gattis moved and asked unanimous consent that CSHB 107(EDC) be returned to second reading for the specific purpose of considering Amendment No. 1. There being no objection, it was so ordered. 2015-04-14 House Journal Page 0926 Amendment No. 1 was offered by Representatives Gattis, Keller, and Hughes: Page 1, lines 1 - 2 (title amendment): Delete "; and providing for an effective date" Page 2, lines 9 - 22: Delete all material and insert: "* Sec. 3. The uncodified law of the State of Alaska is amended by adding a new section to read: TRANSITION. Notwithstanding AS 14.40.130(a), as repealed and reenacted by sec. 1 of this Act, and AS 14.40.130(f) and (g), added by sec. 2 of this Act, a person who is a member of the Board of Regents of the University of Alaska on the effective date of this Act may serve the remainder of the member's term. The governor shall make appointments under AS 14.40.150 to fill vacancies and expired terms on the Board of Regents that occur on or after the effective date of this Act in accordance with AS 14.40.130(a), as repealed and reenacted by sec. 1 of this Act, and AS 14.40.130(f) and (g), added by sec. 2 of this Act." Representative Gattis moved and asked unanimous consent that Amendment No. 1 be adopted. Objection was heard and withdrawn. There being no further objection, Amendment No. 1 was adopted, and the new title follows: CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 107(EDC) am "An Act relating to the composition of the Board of Regents of the University of Alaska." CSHB 107(EDC) am was automatically in third reading. The question being: "Shall CSHB 107(EDC) am pass the House?" Representative Gruenberg later gave notice of reconsideration of the vote on CSHB 107(EDC) am, and reconsideration was taken up then.
